Adoption Policies
Healthy and temperamentally sound animals who come to The Animal Shelter looking for homes, are made available for adoption after seven (7) days. Adoption applicants are carefully screened and, after all adoption requirements have been met and the pet is ready (i.e. spay/neuter, vaccinations, etc.) adopter may take their new furry friend home.
Adoption Procedures
Looking over our pet lists can be the first step to finding your new addition! We also suggest visiting the cats and dogs at the shelter. Once you narrow down to a couple prospective pets, advice from our shelter staff and a introduction to the animal will help you to determine which animal will best accept your lifestyle. The next step is to fill out an Adoption Application. After the staff reviews and approves your application, it's on to signing the adoption contract, paying the fee, and taking your new lucky cat or dog home!
Adoption Fees
Dog and puppy adoptions are $90.00 and cat and kitten adoptions are $90.00. These fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, and veterinary treatment received at the shelter.
All animals will be spayed or neutered before leaving the Animal Shelter. In the event that an animal is not already spay/neutered at the time of adoption, the Animal Shelter will hold the animal and have the animal spay/neutered.
